Morales Law Wins Guardianship Termination Case In Ventura County

guardianship

In a recent case handled in November of 2024 by our firm, we successfully defended our client in a guardianship dispute. The opposing party sought to terminate the maternal aunt's guardianship of a minor child. However, due to the dedicated efforts of our legal team, the court denied the termination, ensuring the child's continued well-being under our client's guardianship.

While we cannot disclose specific details due to confidentiality, this case highlights the complexities involved in guardianship proceedings. It underscores the importance of seeking experienced legal counsel when navigating such sensitive family law matters. Opposing counsel was a successful Los Angeles attorney, who argued the wrong legal standard, that the biological father only had to prove he was a fit parent, which is wrong. Our attorney, Marcus Morales, argued to the judge that there was no change in circumstances and it was in the child's best interest for the guardianship to continue. Now that our client's guardianship will continue, the child will be a safe and loving home and be raised by Guardians who will protect the child.

Our firm remains committed to protecting the best interests of children and families in Santa Barbara and surrounding communities. We are proud to have achieved a positive outcome for Ms. Curley and her family.
